This is the colored version to Suspicious Detective Original
The picture has been digitally colored in the program, CorelDRAW Photo Paint 8. The box set offers extra discs with clip art, of which I added some for decorative purposes. The only added clip art are the candles and poinsettias on the fireplace. The surrounding furniture was colored by me with the use of Eye Dropper for proper colors and many blush tools. No copying/pasting of movie stills was used. The floorboards are also from a Corel disc under wood pieces. On choosing the colors of the character's clothing: I totally messed up on drawing the original style of the dress Olivia wears in the film. I decided to change her dress entirely by going with holiday colors. Dawson's suit is the same style, yet I changed the colors to festive green and red. Basil, well, he's comfy in his standard house robe, but probably does have clothes with colors for December wear. Details: Small, and hardly noticeable, all characters have colored eyes. Olivia and Dawson have dark brown and Basil has dark green. Basil's nose is shaped different after coloring and I almost removed his top incisors since they looked wrong or out of place. Clip Art provided by CorelDRAW Photo Paint 8, ©1988-1997 and is used with permission. The Great Mouse Detective and its characters are © Disney/Eve Titus |
