Not sure if anyone else does this, but I play various music with or without vocals as I do computer stuff and, you know, I often take the sounds for granted. I play music just for the noise, to keep me occupied. But sometimes, a piece will come up and I'll have to stop what I'm doing and listen. I'll have to sit there and do nothing as it plays. I've even moved the play bar back over the same portion to hear the melodious tunes a second time. I was just playing the GMD soundtrack and never realized how lovely some of the instrumental parts sound. One example starts at 00:36 seconds into "Wrap-Up" at the very end. Listen carefully to the gentle tones of that soft flute and you'll see what I mean. Henry Mancini definitely nailed the tender relationship between Basil and Olivia with those few notes.

Another favorite I was playing not too long ago was Final Fantasy VI OST. It's the "Ending Theme" at 07:26 into the track and stops at 09:15. Terra and Relm's theme combined. I know it's video game music, but hey, who cares? Composers like Nobuo Uematsu should get some kind of recognition just the same. Like movie scores, their work is absolutely haunting.

Then, while watching TMNT 1 in the theater on April 4, I remembered that small bit of music during the campfire scene. It plays very softly after Splinter fades from view and the Turtles realize what they need to do next. I have always liked that portion and was bummed when it didn't appear on the soundtrack. "Shredder's Suite," however, makes up for it big time.

This was a random topic, nothing special, but I hope I'm not the only one who really cherishes music at times.
