Fly me to the moon!
When I first woke up, I was glad to know I was off to rest and just do some errands on my own time. My family then tells me before I check the Internet that Farrah Fawcett died. I felt real sad, but I knew she was battling cancer for a long time. So, the day continues. Mom takes Christine to work at noon and I'm getting ready to go out later on. We had to take Toby, our elder kitty, at a 5 p.m. appointment when we were worried that his under belly was sagging too low. We also discovered a terrible gash, bite, or whatever on his left hind leg that we wanted to get examined. Finally, his front left paw looked swollen, or bigger in size compared to his right front leg. Pretty much, we were concerned about him and wanted to take him in.
Mom and I just left the bank at around 2:30 and were listening to 105.7 the Walrus in the car. It was a Beatles song playing, that's why we kept the station on. We were on our way to the library to browse around when the song ended and the news hit us like a ton of bricks. The announcer said it like this, "If you think you haven't gotten over the loss of Farrah Fawcett, here is some breaking news about Michael Jackson..." My mouth dropped like a lifeless codfish and Mom was like, "OH MY GOD!" I lost it right there in the front seat. I started to cry like you wouldn't believe and so did Mom, but she kept repeating "OMG" within her cries. After the announcer talked, they played "I'll Be There" when Michael was a little boy. I cried harder to it. We thought about not going into the library when our faces would be red and puffy, but we still went and I found some books to purchase in their shop. The lady who rang me up asked if I was doing okay and I said I've been better. When she asked why, I started to explain about Farrah Fawcett and then Michael Jackson. Two young girls standing behind me overheard my words and I could hear them whisper, "Farrah? Oh, my God!"
We came back home and it was hard getting into our apartment complex. An ambulance and fire truck were blocking the entrance. It looked like they were placing a young boy into the ambulance with his friend standing on the sidewalk next to his and his friend's bike. We waited till they left and started to pull in. Mom started to turn into the driveway of our complex and rolled down her window to ask the boy what happened. He said his friend fell off his bike and broke his wrist. He didn't make much of a fuss about it, but the wrist was definitely broken. Mom offered to take him and the bikes anywhere he needed to go but the boy said he already called his dad to come get him. That's a bummer for his friend. Summer just started and he's going to have a cast on his wrist.
We got inside and turned on the news to watch the media circus for Michael Jackson. I started posting here and there online, feeling as if I was living in some sort of Twilight Zone. I've calmed down some, but it still upset me greatly. This day has just been plain awful. The only good news is Toby will be okay. He just needs antibiotics for the cut on his hind leg and we need to get him on a lighter food because he's a little overweight. He's supposed to be around 12 pounds and he weighed in at 15.11. He'd better be okay, I can't take anymore bad news at this point!

Sweet heaven, I see the light.
I feel...love and life; sun and shine.
But here in this Hades I cannot touch...
The forbidden angels of love cannot save me.
I see the demons of your hell.
I kiss the angels of your despair.
Glad your kitty is doing all right, though!
