Oh hon... I am so sorry, and I know nothing I can really say will make it better. I had to put my 18-year-old Tonkinese Louise down this New Year's Eve, she was with us since I was 3, I basically grew up with her. It broke my heart to lose her, and before that, we lost our 8-year-old Siamese Pansy and it was such a shock because we knew she was sick, but I didn't know she could shut down like that at such an early age. It is horrible to have to put a pet to sleep, but remember, you are performing an act of love, one where they don't have to suffer through the pain, where they can drift to Heaven peacefully. I am so sorry though. Prayers for you and your family as your mourn your cat's passing.

I'm so sorry! I love cats too and I know what you're going through. Sadly, our last two cats didn't have the chance to be put down, one got ran over by a car and another wandered off (we lived in the countryside) in the woods to die alone. Its a tragic habit that cats have to do that when they know they're dying. But your kitty is in kitty heaven now (and yes I totally believe there's a kitty heaven, no one can convince me otherwise) and playing with all the Basil cat-toys he can get his paws on :3 I know its hard, there's probably another kitty out there who's alone and needs your love and attention. Of course, nothing can replace Toby and you have memories to keep him alive in your heart.

I know how it feels. I've put down a cat before. I'm scared for my 20 year old kitty cat Chessie. She's having renal failure but it seems like she has a bit longer with me according to my aunt.

I'll be very upset if my cat passed away... we had her for nine years but its like i had her for my whole life

Thank you, Grace. I remember you telling us about losing your cat around New Year's Eve, that was so awful to hear. It's awful when you've known them for so long, they really are a member of the family. Toby remained sweet to the very end. None will ever replace him.

Thank you, Lauren. My sister's friend was telling us that when we are ready, we should get another cat, but at kitten stage. Because we got Toby at just 10 weeks, he grew attached to us, becoming very loving and affectionate. Jasmine was a year old and street smart when we got her, and that's why she's more distant to us. She refuses to snuggle.

So sorry to hear about your two cats, that is so horrible for them to die like that. It's never easy no matter how it happens.
