Fly me to the moon!
Disneyland was a lot of fun even though we got there late in the day. We planned on doing that when the weather felt too warm. We got there at 3:50 in the afternoon (or what my parking ticket read) and we didn't end up on Minnie's level! We got Daisy, and that meant there were tons of parking spaces available. We asked the lady of the parking structure and she said the park was real slow. She was right. It did bottle up in the popular areas (like outside Indiana Jones in Adventureland), but really, it was considered a slow day for a summer month. As we waited for the tram at the parking structure, my aunt and uncle caught up with us. We were planning to meet with them somewhere in the park, but they got a good start on the road from work.
Mom got her $69 fun card, got her birthday call from Goofy, and then we got Fast Passes for Indiana Jones. Some popular attractions had long lines, but the walkways themselves were scarce. Had it been crowded, it would be hard to move anywhere. Pirates was a 25 minute wait, but that always moves swiftly.
Had dinner at Storyteller's at 5:30, returned to Indiana Jones for the Fast Pass, park hopped to California Adventure to ride CA Screamin' (my uncle loves that ride) and then hopped back over to DL. We were going to stay till closing but Mom had a mosquito bite on her leg that looked horrendous, or it got real blotchy red. We took her over to First Aid in DL to get some ice for it. I've never been inside there before; the Disney fan artist that I am checked out the drawings on the wall. They were of Minnie and Daisy dressed as nurses and treating animals like Pluto and Figaro. Ended up going home after that, but it was still a nice and fun day!
Today I have a late shift, so I slept in while Mom and Christine went to pick up Toby's remains. I guess I was so distraught when asked what to do with him, I opted for keeping the remains. It's a beautiful wooden box with his name in gold on top. It's padlocked but a key is optional in case we want to spread the ashes. Don't think we will. We also got an official death certificate and a clay impression of his paw print. Mom cried all the way home. This makes it seem like it's official of losing him. We put him behind a glass cabinet in the far back. So...yeah...he's home, in some form or another.
Gotta go start getting ready for work. Talk to you all later!
